How to Help A Blind Person Be More Independent
Clé de Cartier
An absolute masterpiece from the show is the Cartier Clé de Cartier, an Automatic skeleton designed to showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of the brand.
The process of skeletonisation is no easy feat. It involves chiselling away metal from the watch’s mechanism to ensure light weight is achieved without compromising on strength and balance.
Cartier are accustomed to challenges though and for this particular SIHH debut, they installed the Calibre 9612 MC movement. This means it’s the first Cartier skeleton watch with an automatic winding as opposed to manual winding.
The beautifully machined case is made from rare palladium and sits at 41mm in diameter. Set with sword-shaped blue sapphire hands, the watch makes a perfect contrast against the black alligator skin strap complete with an 18K white gold folding clasp.
The watch also has a minimum power reserve of 48 hours.
Pricing and availability on this watch is yet to be confirmed.
