I have a very exciting announcement today! After mentioning in this blog post that I hoped to run another race this year, a little birdie at Disney Sports contacted me about participating in the Disney Princess half-marathon on March 7. I, of course, jumped at the chance. This 13.1 mile race geared towards women circles through the Disney Park and is Princess themed, focusing on the different characters' attributes of commitment, courage, determination, fantasy, perseverance and strength. A pretty cool concept in my opinion.
So, for the next six weeks (yikes! so soon!), I will be blogging here on the Daily Dose about my training leading up to the race and other topics related to running.
It may seem like a short time, but when I ran the NYC half-marathon in July 2008, I was able to adequately train in about seven weeks. So, I'm confident (knock on wood…) that I can do this and have already been diving right into logging some mileage over the past week.
