Honey

Honey is counterfeited as follows: they dilute the required variety with cheaper varieties or even use components that have nothing to do with real honey: for example, you can often find corn syrup or sugar as part of a substandard food product.

Not so long ago, in 2008, there was a scandal with a German company: it turned out that it imported a cheap variety from the territory of China, which was later sold in many countries. When its composition began to be analyzed, it turned out that chloramphenicol was present in it - it was banned in a variety of states, an antibiotic, as well as pesticides, which could easily cause the strongest allergy.

In order to understand, a fake variety or not, it is necessary to spread it on bread, then wait 10-20 minutes. Real honey will not soak the bread, and it will soak from the counterfeit rather quickly.

Cheese

Often, its producers give out cheap cheese for expensive varieties. But, unfortunately, this can even be considered a success - in fact, according to statistics, about 70% of the cheeses on the market at the moment are not.

Palm oil is put into the fake, using it instead of the dairy component, and in Parmesan you can even find cellulose. To protect yourself from counterfeit cheese, it is recommended to purchase a circle immediately, having previously studied the information on the attached label.

Olive oil

The fact that almost half of the oils imported from the United States - counterfeit, was known back in 2007.Manufacturers manage not only to dilute the expensive olive oil from cheaper ones - most often they simply add other oils, such as soybean, peanut or sunflower, as well as palm and corn.

Some manufacturers are trying to mislead buyers by the country of manufacture, which very often happens with the Italian product. In addition, it often contains a variety of dyes to give a greenish tint, as well as flavors - to disguise extraneous odors. Before buying it is recommended to carefully study the label, as well as evaluate the taste and color.

The label must contain information on where the oil was made and where it was spilled. And one more thing - a quality product oxidizes over time, losing taste and properties, and when stored in a refrigerator a white precipitate forms in it.

Cocoa and Chocolate

The ancient Aztec cocoa beans were used as currency: they could buy almost everything. And therefore, even in ancient times, the beans were tried to forge, using colored wax, avocado peel and even sand with ash.

Nowadays, fraudsters use vegetable oils (mostly palm oil) instead of them and use very low quality cocoa beans. Before buying, you need to study the label and shelf life of the product - the shelf life of more than 8 months suggests that such chocolate is not worth buying.

Sour cream and milk

The ingredients of sour cream are often replaced with cheaper ones and not at all useful. For example, instead of animal fat, manufacturers prefer to use vegetable, while replacing milk protein with soy.

This sour cream is quite difficult to find, but feasible - for this, you need to drop the spoon with it into boiling water: if it is natural, it will immediately dissolve, but if not, it will sink to the bottom.

With milk, the situation is no better - instead of dairy fats, varieties of plant origin are used. Most often it is palm oil. Sometimes in the milk there are foreign impurities - melamine and starch, caustic soda, and even lard. In order not to be mistaken in the choice, it is best to buy milk from a famous manufacturer with a short shelf life.

Crab sticks and fish

Surprisingly, crab sticks, which are known to have no relation to crabs,also manage to falsify. It is known that the composition of crab sticks for 30-45% includes surimi, minced white fish.

But sometimes it is simply not in them - the manufacturers add soy protein, starch and artificial substitutes to the product. If you still want to buy crab sticks, you need to look at the label: if there are surimi in the composition, then you can buy them.

As for the fish, it is still more complicated. Manufacturers use the fact that pieces of one type are very difficult to distinguish from another. In addition, fish bred in a pond are often given out as sea fish: salmon, trout and salmon that are on store shelves are currently grown in 95% of cases using artificial feed.

So that fish meat has a beautiful pinkish hue, it is fed with dyes. In addition, studies from 2010-2012 showed that about 40% of samples of fish purchased in stores did not match the stated name. In order not to get caught on a hook, experts recommend purchasing only fresh or even live fish as a whole.

Coffee

Ground coffee is often falsified. You can find anything in the composition: from roasted corn, roasted barley and chicory, potato flour and burnt sugar to starch, and even crumbled branches, which are added to significantly reduce the cost of production.

To avoid counterfeit goods, it is better to grind the coffee yourself, and buying it in beans is the only way to not be afraid for the presence of third-party components.
