Top 10 Attractive Hair Color For Guys - Guys Hair Trends 2018

16 Best Dirty Blonde Hair Colors of 2019

Dirty blonde hair is a medium blonde hair color with hints of darker tones. It’s definitely a popular trend right now! Adding this beautiful tone to your hairstyles will definitely make it look awesome. Most women will think about lightening up their hair around the Spring and into Summer, but honestly, it’s a gorgeous look any time of the year! I admit, this look does appear more amazing on women with darker skin, as it’s the perfect suntan with beachy hair look. Whether you have naturally darker hair and looking to lighten it up or you have very light hair and want to darken it up, you can achieve your look with either the balayage or foil coloring technique. Following a proper hair care regimen will keep your hairstyles popping with color. So rather than getting a super light platinum blonde or a buttery golden blonde, give yourself a dirtier color with one of these inspiring photos below.

How would you describe this look?

This is a “truly lived-in bob.” The color is a mix of natural regrowth with some foilayage and a root smudge. This creates a natural look that can really stretch the length of time between appointments. The cut is a slightly slanted textured bob. I personally only dry cut. I think that’s a key element to having a really soft and natural texture.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This dirty blonde hair color is really great for clients who don’t want much upkeep as far as color is concerned. The technique works for every type of color and texture hair. The cut, however, can be some work and take some intensive hair care. It works best for people with slightly wavy hair or curly hair. Straight hair requires a bit of finesse to get the texture or at least the use of some products. The best and easiest way to get this hairstyle is with a styling wand. Use the right products to for color hair care to maintain this shade.

How would you describe this look?

This dirty blonde hair cut is chic and sophisticated. I love the contrast of color from the darker roots to the light ends. This is one of my favorite haircuts to perform on a client! Precision cutting has always been one of my stronger suits! It creates a beautiful angle from high to low that gives a more sexy look to the regular bob.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Even though this haircut is considered to be a little more challenging for a hairstylist, it’s one of the easiest for a client to maintain. It can work on most hair textures, whether the hair is thick and curly or fine and straight – it looks great on most hair! It’s usually suited best with someone with a normal to the long neck, however, it can be done on someone with a short neck.

So much can be done with this haircut. A client can make it more extreme by cutting the back very short and leaving the front long, and they can even do a longer haired version of this if the client is afraid to lose length. It looks cute when it’s messy and wavy with a beach salt spray and more professional when it’s blown out smooth! I also love it when someone puts a braid in the front or a half up top knot!

Sun-Kissed Blonde

How would you describe this look?

This hairstyle is a neutral dark blonde to medium blonde with sunkissed highlights and a shadow root. The shadow root gives an extra dimension and a flawless grow out. It’s not quite cool but also not exactly warm. It all depends on the lighting. Lighting plays a huge role in how your color appears. There is just something about sunkissed hairstyles that brightens up a room.

I love how beautifully blended and natural this dirty blonde hair is. Of course, the waves really bring out all the dimension of the balayage. Balayages always look their absolute best with some texture and waves. As for the cut, we did a subtle face frame and really thinned out the ends of her hair and added lots of texture with the razor to shatter the ends of her hair for maximum movement and a quicker hair dry time.

Any advice for someone considering it?

To maintain this dirty blonde hair with products it’s extremely important to use a professional brand of shampoo/conditioner that is sulfate free. When coloring over top of platinum hair, especially when wanting a look that isn’t too permanent (because most blondes don’t want permanent dark haha, they always go back to blonde) the color can fade fast, so maintaining the color with the correct products is extremely important.

This look is really for anyone searching for natural looking, low maintenance yet trendy hairstyles. This is also a great option for blondes who want to potentially try going darker, but playing it safe, or just wanting a little change This is very easy to reverse.

Depending on your face shape and skin tone, your stylist can help decide where to frame your face with some blonde and where to put the dark to draw attention to your features. You would be surprised at how the right tone and color placement can enhance all of your good looks.

How would you describe this look?

When this client initially came to me it was to get tape extensions, the safest method on the market if installed correctly. After months of use and letting her natural hair grow out, we decided to take a break from extensions. We did a low maintenance color but with heavy baby lights around her face. This gives the illusion of bright blonde to the client but allows them not to over process their hair. We did a root smudge but left out face-framing pieces. Face-framing babylights are my absolute fave thing about this dirty blonde hair!

First, I round brushed her to enhance her natural shine, then ran a flat iron across the ends quickly without sectioning. I lightly sprayed Keune press wax and curled with a Stylecraft 1.25″ curling iron, then I let her hair cool off and separated it with my fingers (the trick to getting beach waves)

Any advice for someone considering it?

This color is effortless and meant for the girl who still wants bright blonde around her face but is trying to let her hair grow out. This color was done May 14th and after almost 4 months of growth, the color still looks on point! What the client does at home with their hair is way more important than what we do. Making sure clients always go home with the right products and knowledge to maintain hair care is essential.

Ashy Blonde with Dark Roots

Q&A with style creator, Joss Sanroman
Stylist @ Miva Salon in Hayward, CA

How would you describe this look?

This look is an icy blonde balayage! We kept it nice and rooted, giving her a soft transition from her natural to the icy, cool blonde. Icy blonde hairstyles are unique because of how the color flows through the tresses and in light.

The best thing about this look is the melt because it will grow out very blended with no harsh lines. I also love that this clean canvas gives her the option of doing different tones or creative colors! Who doesn’t love options?

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look definitely requires extra time, money, and maintenance. It is considered a high contrast look, as she will need to come back at least every 8-10 weeks. I also recommend to come in between touch ups for a quick trim and gloss (to refresh the color).

I always recommend using professional shampoo, conditioner, and the proper styling products at home to keep the hair hydrated. Keeping your hair as healthy as possible is key! Hair care should definitely not be overlooked.

Subtle Dirty Blonde for Long Hair

Hairdresser @ A.K.A. Luova in Helsinki, Finland

How would you describe this look?

Dirty blond is a blond with beige-y and brown vibes. I like it because for blondes, it’s an easy way to try something darker, and you can come back if you get frightened.

I styled the dirty blonde hair with GHD platinium iron and made effortless waves using my new hero product Sebastian Shaper iD. It gives you touchable texture, and it emphasizes the layered cut.

What I love about this look are the effortless texture and deeper shades of blond.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This dirty blonde hair is suitable almost for everyone. The most important thing is to talk with your hairstylist who can personalize it. They know best how to apply highlights and lowlights for your face shape.

If you want to be the whitest blond in the room, this look isn’t for you. Otherwise, if you like it just try it. Life is too short to have boring hair.

Brown Hair with Dirty Blonde Ends

Q&A with style creator, Emily York
Hairstylist @ Studio Luxe Hair and Skin Spa in Portland, OR

How would you describe this look?

The best thing about this dirty blonde hair is the blended transition from dark to light. It flows really well and allows you to have both dark and light hair. I also love this color curled but if done right it will look good straight as well, so there is versatility.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This cut has visual layers that add movement to hairstyles. I prefer this much more for clients with finer hair over uniform layers. It will keep the perimeter looking thicker whereas a traditionally layered haircut may take away from the perimeter. Face Framing is also super cute with this cut as it will keep the long-hair look a little more interesting. Products I love for this style is Davines Sea Salt Spray wet at the root for volume and to finish after curls with a texture spray to allow hold and create thickness and texture.

Wavy Hair with Dirty Blonde Highlights

How would you describe this look?

This is a dimensional honey balayage. All the tones in this hair give it so much character. It’s a perfect dirty blonde hair color for all year round! Before I started the color process I cut off about 6 inches of her hair! The best thing about doing hair has to be styling. I love to use a 3/4 curling iron for all hair lengths.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Depending on your current hair color/hair history, it might take sessions to achieve this color the healthy way! Healthy locks and hair care go hand it hand. The thing I love about balayage is that they are super easy to maintain for anyone’s lifestyle. Balayages are meant for everyone from all face shapes, hair types, and personalities! It looks so seamless even when it grows out! A hair care regimen should be followed. I always recommend a good purple shampoo to use once a week on damp hair for 10-15 minutes, professional shampoo for daily use, washing your hair every 2 days (or longer) to not dry out your hair, heat protectant, and a good hydrating oil to keep your hair looking healthy and shiny.
